Non-executive directors event

After running very successfully in 2010 we have secured the support of a number of SHAs to run this event exclusively for non-executive directors.

Delegates at eventThe next few months will be critical for the NHS as it implements wide-ranging health service reforms while delivering high quality care under increasing financial pressure. You will be asked to provide strong leadership through a period of change in order to maintain a clear focus on delivering for patients and the public. This event is designed to support you through the changes ahead.

Highlights include:

With the Health and Social Care Bill entering its final parliamentary stages, Mike Farrar, Chief executive, NHS Confederation will share his thoughts on:

  • the changes to the reforms since the White Paper was published, and what to expect from the remaining stages of the legislation
  • how to build understanding of what the new architecture, rules and environment mean for your organisations
  • how to make the reforms work well for patients, and the challenges ahead
  • Dean Royles, Director, NHS Employers will update you on managing the pay bill and supporting employers with QIPP
  • Sally Chisholm, CEO, NHS Technology Adoption Centre will be discussing innovation in the NHS in relation to QIPP
  • there will also be breakout sessions for providers and commissioners to support you through the transition

Who should attend
This event is funded by the Strategic Health Authorities in Yorkshire & Humber, North East, North West, West Midlands, East Midlands and South West regions. For delegates from these regions this event is free of charge. If you work in a different SHA the charge will be £99.
