ASN director Liz Kendall attended a meeting with health minister Ben Bradshaw recently to discuss the proposed new 3-digit number for urgent care.
The meeting was also attended by NHS Direct, GP out of hours providers, Department of Health officials, and strategic health authority leads on the 3-digit number. Ofcom will be consulting on the proposed new 3-digit number for urgent care in May.
If there is a positive response to the proposals, the Government intends to pilot the number in approximately three areas in England, with the pilots going live in April 2010.
