CQC Developing Provider Review, March 2009

09/03/2009
The ASN and CQC hosted a joint event on 9 March 2009.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) launched a consultation document on 18 December on proposals for the assessment of health and adult social care providers and commissioners in 2009/10.

The ASN hosted an event for the CQC on Monday 9 March in London which provided ASN members with the opportunity to feedback their views about the CQC’s proposals for periodic and special reviews in 2009/10, and to also engage with the CQC over the longer term on behalf of their ambulance service.

The format for the day included presentations from Richard Hamblin, CQC Director of Intelligence (designate) who gave an overview of the role of the CQC, and David Bawden, CQC Head of Provider Methods (designate) who outlined the Commission’s objectives for periodic reviews.  View the CQC’s presentation.

This was followed by a breakout sessions with opportunities for delegates to feedback on key aspects of the proposals, focussing on assessment of standards in 2009/10 and possible future direction of assessment.
Feedback from members will also be available here soon.
