Mental Health FT named Top NHS Employer

South Essex Partnership University FT has been voted the top NHS place to work by its staff
2010 winner of best NHS Employer 

South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust was named the best NHS employer at the Healthcare 100 awards for 2010. It was also named as the Top Mental Health Trust, Top Employer for Performance Management and Staff Development, and Top Employer for Managers.
The awards assess healthcare employers by scoring the views of their staff. The awards, now in their second year, are delivered by the Health Service Journal and Nursing Times in association with NHS Employers and the Department of Health.
Dr Patrick Geoghegan, chief executive at South Essex Partnership University NHS FT, said: “This would not have been possible without the continued hard work of our staff and support from service users. I am committed to engaging with all my staff whether they be a domestic or a director especially as we face more difficult times in the future. Our success demonstrates that effective staff engagement works and that involving your staff in decision making produces positive results."

• Salford Royal Foundation Trust - Top Teaching Trust award
• The Walton Centre Foundation Trust in Merseyside - Specialist Trust award
• Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals Foundation Trust – Top General Acute Trust and Top Large Employer award
• Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust - Most Improved Employer award

And other FTs gain top 10 places including Oxleas FT; the Royal Marsden FT; and Yeovil District Hospital FT. For more see the link (right).
