What are the benefits?

The FTN has established a track record as the national voice for the foundation trust movement. We have an extensive programme of influencing, networking and learning events for members with a variety of member benefits and opportunities to get involved in our work, including:

  • Influencing policy - members benefit from our programme of policy work on topics ranging from regulation and finance to legal and insurance issues. This policy work is based on regular member consultations to ensure your views are effectively represented to key decision makers.
  • Networks - we host meetings three times a year for chairs and chief executives and mental health members and quarterly meetings for communications leads, HR directors, finance directors, clinical leaders, company secretaries and directors with commercial development responsibilities. Members benefit from sharing learning and emerging good practice and shape our work programme.
  • www.foundationtrustnetwork.org - members have access to the 'members only' area of this website. Facilities include a range of on-line discussion forums for members.
  • Newsletters - our regular e-bulletin, In Touch, highlights key issues, developments in our work programme and forthcoming events.
  • Seminars, conferences and dinners - we run a major programme of seminars and conferences for members and host dinners for chairs and chief executives to discuss current issues affecting the foundation trust movement with key opinion formers.
  • Providing guidance and sharing information - we provide guidance and act as a conduit between members to allow them to share information and good practice.
  • Board training and development - members have access to our practical support for FT boards, including research on effective approaches to board evaluation and appraisal.
  • Publications - we have a regular publishing programme to share emerging learning, both within the FT movement and with the wider NHS.
