Phil Hough 

 
Phil Hough has been in a caring role for 24 years for various family members.  He has experience in a wide range of medical conditions from Cancer to Alzheimer’s disease and is currently a carer for his mother and brother. 

Phil HoughHis brother has a diagnosis of a severe and enduring mental health problem which he has had for the last 14 years.

Phil is the Chair of Vale Royal Relatives Support Group, which is for carers of people who suffer from mental health problems.  This group has over 150 carers on their lists and the group is something that he is especially proud of, and has led to his involvement with Social Services Countywide Mental Health Carers Group.

His involvement in Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) work has been varied to say the least.  He became involved with the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) since its creation and is heavily involved with Recruitment and Selection of new Trust staff and sits on Trust-Wide management teams. He also sat as a trust board PPI rep for several years and is also heavily involved in the trusts anti stigma campaign.

Phil also is a Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) member for Time to Change the nation campaign to challenge stigma. LEAP which is the national service users and carer advisory panel that advises the campaign on its work and helps steer the direction of future developments.
