Former health adviser to Tony Blair discusses challenges facing independent sector providers in the NHS

26/07/2010
Paul Corrigan, former health adviser to Tony Blair, recently came to talk to the NHS Partners Network clinical forum about some of the challenges facing independent sector providers in the NHS.

He has written up a blog about his presentation on his website, which can be accessed here.

In this blog entry, Mr Corrigan discusses the issue of competition in the NHS, what implications the new system of commissioning will have for competition and independent sector providers, and the role government has to play in creating a market for the health service.

Speaking at the first of a series of monthly workshops for members, Paul presented some key points of interest  set within the Government’s health white paper. For further information, please read the meeting notes and view the presentation.
