The role of the Community Services forum

The PCT Network Community Services forum was launched in the summer of 2008 by Bob Ricketts, director of system management at the Department of Health. Since its development, the forum has become increasingly popular with our network members as the work programme continues to provide members with a platform to address and discuss the key issues of concern to them. Forum days have attracted delegates from both executive and non-executive boards, as well as some key note speakers. The purpose of the forum is to establish and maintain a strong voice for community services in order to influence national policy and debate. Through influencing national policy, the forum can ensure that community services have a supportive environment and policy framework in which to develop and improve.

You can find out more about our work programme for community services providers on our work programme pages.

PCT Community Services forum days

The forum days have been designed to create learning, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for senior managers and chairs in PCT provider arms. These forums are growing in popularity amongst our members and we will continue with the programme of events in 2010. To register your interest in attending this forum, please contact Elaine Cohen at elaine.cohen@nhsconfed.org.

Community Services forum steering group

The work programme for the forum is shaped by a steering group. The steering group is made up of regional representatives. These representatives are chosen from the ten SHA regions in England. The chair of the forum is Matthew Winn, chief executive, Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust. Matthew is supported in his role by Elaine Cohen, senior policy manager at the NHS Confederation.

For minutes of previous meetings of the steering group, please contact Eaine Cohen at elaine.cohen@nhsconfed.org.
