The group, chaired by Gill Scoular, Director of Finance and Performance at Northampton PCT, came together to discuss a range of issues facing PCTs in the backdrop of today’s economic climate. Topics including the WCC financial template, auditor assessments of PCTs and the financial implications of Swine flu were discussed by delegates.
The meeting included a presentation by Paul Burdon, NHS Performance Lead and ALERT Programme Manager, Audit Commission. Paul provided delegates with an update the work his team is doing on the use of resources framework and the Comprehensive Area Assessment.
Other speakers included David Stout, Director, PCT Network and Janet Perry, NHS Financial Controller, Department of Health. An HFMA update was provided to the group by Gill Scoular in Mark Knight’s (chief executive of HFMA) absence.
