The NHS Confederation has an exciting opportunity for an experienced event officer to join the events team in London.

The events portfolio is a major part of the NHS Confederation’s extensive programme of commercial activities, which play a critical role in generating income to support the organisation.

The role will be based in our London office and will be Wednesday – Friday, with flexibility required around event dates and our annual conference in June.

Reporting to the event services manager, the event services officer will be responsible for the project management and delivery of the national event programme for our member networks, working on conferences and exhibitions for 50 to 300+ delegates. The post holder will also work closely with the commercial manager to ensure the exhibition element of our events is an integral part of the delegate experience and we deliver all onsite expectations for our key sponsors.

S/he will be responsible for the leadership of the event services assistant, who delivers delegate management of the national events portfolio.

The post holder will need to build strong relationships across the NHS Confederation, employing effective negotiating and influencing skills to ensure that all relevant parties are engaged in the planning and delivery of events.

S/he is responsible for a budget of up to £200k and will deliver 10 – 20 events per year. S/he will be able to make suggestions to the event services manager on how purchasing power can be harnessed and income streams maximised, as well as identify and make proposals for new commercial opportunities and event activities that support the strategic aims of the organisation.

The commercial and events team also includes management of Horizon Leeds – a state-of-the-art conference and learning centre located in our Leeds office. The post holder will be expected to take an active interest in the commercial development of the venue and support the team with onsite operations.
