Building on the success of two sold-out modules earlier this year, the Local Growth Academy
has launched four new modules
to help NHS organisations and other anchor institutions build on their operational capacity and maximise involvement in local developments.
This fourth module, Major Projects, will take place on 11 December in Birmingham and 12 December in London.
All modules cost £99 per person, including VAT.
What will I learn?
Major projects often fail when they lack effective strategic leadership, strong early planning and organisation, stakeholder management and integrated project controls.
This Local Growth Academy masterclass sets out how anchor institutions can improve the process of implementation, with a particular focus on planning, design, contract management, funding and financing, mitigating risk, construction, sourcing resources and labour, supply chains, governance, value creation and operational legacy.
Important lessons from latest research identifies how localities are attracting new forms of funding and financing for infrastructure. An overview of the recent and contemporary UK policy environment is provided, with a focus on the role of infrastructure in the Industrial Strategy, and the specific roles for the National Infrastructure Commission and the Infrastructure Projects Authority.
Who should attend?
Senior members working within the NHS with responsibility for strategy, finance, transformation or external stakeholder management.
