Vanessa Young, Director of the Welsh NHS Confederation, said:

“Our members welcome the creation of Health Education and Improvement Wales which represents a significant opportunity to create a genuinely strategic platform to meet the long term education, training and organisational development needs of the health and social care sector in Wales. As such it is crucial that we get it right.

“We look forward to working with the Interim Chair, the Welsh Government and other stakeholders to help shape the new organisation and its relationship with other health and social care bodies. We also need to understand better the plans for the body to have a strategic role in leadership and improvement of health services.”
