Developing a clinical vision for the independent sector
A number of our members have provided us with the following clinical case studies. These case studies demonstrate the independent healthcare sector’s contribution to the NHS in many areas, including:
- Listening to patients and meeting their needs
- Providing the best possible outcomes
- Working as partners in the local health economy
- Providing meaningful choices for patients
- Providing value for money for tax payers

Examples of innovation
In October 2013 NHSPN launched a competition to find the very best examples of innovation from across the independent healthcare sector. We asked our members to submit examples of innovation that brought the very highest quality of care to patients while saving the NHS money.
The winner was Healthcare at Home with their innovative partnership with the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, "Recovery at Home", while Connect Physical Health, Horder Healthcare, Optum and Virgin Care all provided excellent case studies.
