Dame Lesley Regan reappointed as Women's Health Ambassador

The NHS Confederation’s Health and Care Women Leaders Network responds to Dame Lesley Regan’s reappointment as Women's Health Ambassador for England.

The government has announced the reappointment of Professor Dame Lesley Regan as Women’s Health Ambassador for England for two more years, up to December 2025.

Sam Allen, chair of the NHS Confederation’s Health and Care Women Leaders Network said:

“The Health and Care Women Leaders Network is delighted to hear of the reappointment of Dame Lesley Regan as the Women's Health Ambassador for England. This announcement resonates with our commitment to advancing women's health and promoting gender equality across healthcare, and of course with 78% of the NHS workforce female and 82% of the social care workforce this also includes better supporting the health and care workforce with their health."

"Dame Lesley's continued leadership serves as a catalyst for our shared mission and we will continue to actively support the implementation of the Women's Health Strategy. We are dedicated to representing women working in healthcare and aim to translate the strategy's goals into tangible improvements in healthcare practices, ensuring they address the individual needs of women."

Join the network’s fireside chat on the Women’s Health Strategy

On 15 February, the Health and Care Women Leaders Network will host its third virtual fireside chat from 5 - 6.15pm, featuring Dame Lesley Regan and Emma Challans-Rasool.
