Joint health and care personal budgets could offer a powerful way of integrating the commissioning and provision of health and social care services at the individual's level, focusing on their personal needs and the outcomes important to them.

This briefing, produced in partnership with Think Local Act Personal, will be of interest to all commissioners and providers who are considering, or already leading, local deployment of personal budgets in health.

It outlines the key themes from a workshop for senior professionals on joining up personal budgets. It also sets out a series of practical approaches to implementation that might be considered by local leaders as they develop their approaches to integrating personal budgets.
