07 / 09 / 2015

Our formal representation to the Treasury for the 2015 Spending Review outlines our main messages to the government on how it can support the NHS in this Parliament.

The central message is the importance of clarity and stability in funding, to support the NHS to plan how it can change care locally over this Parliament.

We have called on the Treasury to fund the Five Year Forward View in full, resource social care appropriately, enable care to be aligned and to transform the NHS workforce. Our package of proposals set out how this can be done in practice.

The conclusions and recommendations are informed by a detailed piece of supporting analysis, which is now available to download.

Care and support sector representation

We also teamed up with a range of leading care and support sector organisations to submit a representation on social care services. It calls for a "transparent debate about the cost of and funding for sustainable care of decent quality.

"The depth of these shared concerns has brought together national organisations from across the public, private and voluntary sectors to make this unprecedented joint statement on behalf of an estimated 1.9 million people using social care."
