The NHS Confederation, NHS Providers, NHSCC and the LGA are currently working together to help spread the learning from the Vanguard programme more widely across the health and care sector.
As part of this work, we have interviewed a range of NHS leaders about the opportunities and challenges involved in establishing new models of care in local areas.
The first of these interviews is with Heather Tierney-Moore, chief executive of Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, and Jackie Daniel, chief executive of University Hospitals Morecambe Bay Trust. Both trusts are involved in the Better Care Together Vanguard, one of nine integrated primary and acute care systems being piloted in England.
The conversation, led by Saffron Cordery from NHS Providers, covers Heather and Jackie’s views on the motivations and challenges involved in establishing a new approach to delivering care, and the changes required to bring about real improvements for their communities.
