Joint Statement - Planning for Junior Doctors Industrial Action 2024
NHS Wales Employers is working with the national executive contingencies steering groups involving colleagues from Welsh Government, NHS Executive and NHS Wales organisations.
These groups will meet regularly to co-ordinate the national response to industrial action.
On 19th December 2023, a Joint Letter agreed with Welsh Government, BMA and NHS Wales Employers was sent to Chief Executives. This letter set out expectations for organisational planning for the Junior Doctors Strike 15th - 18th January 2024, together with the processes for requesting an emergency derogation (call back) of a junior doctor during strike action.
The contents of this letter remain extant (still in place) for the 2nd and 3rd set of strike action as set out below.
Confirmed as a full withdrawal of labour with the 3rd period of Strike Action has been confirmed as a full withdrawal of labour for a 96-hour continuous period between 7am Monday 25th March 2024 and 7am Friday 29th March (Good Friday, Public Bank Holiday).
