The Health and Care Women Leaders Network held its International Women’s Day webinar on Friday 7 March, from 10am to 12pm, on Zoom. This event showcased the ongoing efforts to advance gender equality and enhance inclusivity for women in healthcare.

This year's theme, 'For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment', calls for actions to unlock equal rights and opportunities where no one is left behind, emphasising the empowerment of women, especially young women and girls, as catalysts for lasting change.

Women's health is not a one-size-fits-all issue. It is influenced by factors such as race, socio-economic status, and disability. This International Women’s Day, the network aims to bring these intersectional perspectives to the forefront, fostering a deeper understanding and paving the way for more equitable healthcare services. This event explored the importance of inclusive leadership, the impact of recent policies and advocacy efforts and the role of innovation in creating a healthcare landscape that truly serves all women.

During the event, delegates had the opportunity to engage with keynote speakers and participate in panel sessions that highlighted the diverse experiences of marginalised women as both healthcare leaders and service users. Attendees enhanced their knowledge and skills in leadership and inclusivity, equipping them to drive change within their workplaces. They were inspired by the successes of others and explored ways to empower women in their organisations. Participants gained insights into the network's priorities and current developments in health and care, while reflecting on the progress made in gender equality and celebrating the achievements of women in the field.
