Health leaders welcome national advertising campaign support for a career in the NHS
Responding to NHS England's annual recruitment drive to employ more nurses, Danny Mortimer chief executive of NHS Employers, part of the NHS Confederation, said:
"Health Leaders will welcome the continued support for major national advertising campaigns for a career in the NHS. Nursing is the largest profession in the NHS with a huge variety of roles and nurses make an incalculable difference to their communities every day.
"Health leaders remain though profoundly concerned that the government has repeatedly failed to invest in the health and social care workforce. The pressures on social care are mounting, particularly as rates of pay fall further for social care staff fall behind the wider job market. The need for the next prime minister to act to expand the numbers of staff being trained to work in health and social care is now critical and long overdue."
