New chair and vice chair for national Health and Care LGBTQ+ Leaders Network announced
We are pleased to announce Mark Cubbon and Ian Green OBE as our Health and Care LGBTQ+ Leaders Network’s new chair and vice chair. They will replace Peter Molyneux, who stepped down from the role in March this year.
Mark Cubbon is group chief executive officer of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and is the new chair of our Health and Care LGBTQ+ Leaders Network. He has a long-standing career in the NHS, having held a range of senior leadership roles including chief executive at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, and chief delivery officer at NHS England.
He will be joined by Ian Green OBE, as vice chair of the network. Ian is chair of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and has significant experience of leadership roles in the voluntary, health, local government, housing and social care sectors, including a chief executive role at the Terrence Higgins Trust.
Dr Layla McCay, executive lead of the network said:
“I am delighted to welcome both Mark and Ian and look forward to working closely with them to achieve our network’s aims – their combined knowledge and experience will be a huge asset for our members. I’d also like to thank our previous chair, Peter Molyneux for his invaluable contribution as chair over the past four years.”
Mark Cubbon said:
“I am incredibly pleased to be joining the network as its new chair. LGBTQ+ staff represent one in twenty in the NHS workforce, yet we know that there is a significant gap in experience. I look forward to working with our members to continue to grow our network’s influence; ensure that LGBTQ+ patients have access to the best care; and that LGBTQ+ staff working across health and care are able to thrive as their authentic selves at work.”
Ian Green OBE said:
“I am very much looking forward to working closely with Mark, Layla, our network members and allies as vice chair. I’m keen to help foster connections and amplify some of the fantastic ongoing work our members are doing to champion LGBTQ+ inclusion.”
