Dr Amanda Doyle appointed NHS England's director of primary and community care
Responding to Dr Amanda Doyle's appointment to NHS England as director of primary and community care, Matthew Taylor, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, said:
“It is hugely encouraging that Dr Amanda Doyle, as a highly experienced GP, former CCG accountable officer and ICS leader, has been appointed as the new director of primary and community care at NHS England.
“Amanda’s vast experience positions her well to take forward what good integrated out-of-hospital care can look like. Also, we are moments away from Dr Claire Fuller’s landmark review that will set out how primary care can be best supported by the system, and so Amanda will have an important responsibility in progressing these recommendations on behalf of the sector.
“Amanda is a friend of the NHS Confederation’s, not least from when she was chair of our NHS Clinical Commissioners network. On behalf of health leaders across the system, we would like to congratulate Amanda on her appointment and we look forward to building on this relationship in her new role.”
