#NotTooMuchToMask

We can all help to stop the spread of the virus and reduce the risk of illness. After all, it’s #NotTooMuchToMask.

We are still in a global pandemic and coronavirus continues to present a risk to our daily lives.

Hundreds of people are dying every week in England with coronavirus, there are tens of thousands of new infections being recorded daily, and we are now learning about the new Omicron strain.

This is despite the phenomenal success of the vaccination programme, which is ongoing.

While experts around the world find out how harmful and disruptive Omicron could be, one of the main lessons in how we have responded to the pandemic so far is that we should act quickly and cautiously.

Rates of coronavirus are already too high, so it is better to be safe than sorry in our actions.

No one wants another national lockdown or for the NHS to become overwhelmed this winter when it is working hard to support the full healthcare needs of the population.

Many members of the public recognise this and continue to make sensible and cautious choices about how they go about their daily lives. We stand in solidarity with them.

We can all help to stop the spread of coronavirus and reduce the risk of illness.

The NHS Confederation, alongside other organisations, is calling on the public to commit to keep themselves and others safe by pledging to:

  1. wear a face mask, if not exempt
  2. keep indoor spaces well ventilated and meet outdoors if you can
  3. make sure you get the coronavirus vaccine, including boosters and third doses when advised
  4. clean your hands regularly including before and after social contact with those outside your household
  5. test regularly, support contract-tracing measures and self-isolate when required.

It's #NotTooMuchToMask.

There are a range of ways that you can show your support, including by downloading and sharing our campaign resources across social media and your networks and, if appropriate, in your workplaces.
