Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for England (Professional and System Leadership)

Acosia Nyanin is a Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for NHS England. She is a registered mental health nurse with over 20 years’ experience in a variety of frontline and leadership positions. Her previous leadership roles include Regional Chief Nurse for NHS, South East England, Director of Quality in the South of England, Professional Lead for Acute Mental Health and Addictions with Priory Group, Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care at the Care Quality Commission, and Chief Nursing Officer at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. In July 2023 Acosia also became a member of the Board of Trustees for Macmillan Cancer Support, inspired by Macmillan’s work to support people with cancer and their loved ones; providing her clinical expertise to the Board to inform and enhance person-centred care to help shape Macmillan’s future plans.

Acosia has dedicated her career to providing person-centred care in health, NHS and social care services and improving outcomes for patients.
