
Alex Gild
Alex is deputy chief executive at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, a mental health and community services provider, with 6,000 staff.
Alex’s purpose in leadership is to improve equity of outcomes for staff, patients, and communities.
Partner member to the Board of Frimley ICB, Alex co-chairs the system Mirror Board with Safina Nadeem (Frimley ICB EDI director/system lead).
Alex is executive sponsor for the Trust’s health inequalities programme, a highlight of which is community and system partnership approach to reduce Mental Health Act detentions of Black people, supported by the NHS Race and Health Observatory.
Alex leads the Trust’s anti-racism programme, recognised for impact by Race Equality Matters trail blazer award. Using strong foundations and building on shared system intent Alex and Safina are leading engagement with health and care partners to develop an antiracism alliance.
