Charles Janczewski

Charles Janczewski was appointed to the role of Chair to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board in June 2020.

He was brought up in Swansea and was educated at Bishop Gore Grammar School.

He was formerly an Executive Director on the Wales Board of Lloyds Bank Plc and was also an Independent Business Consultant operating across Wales and the South West of England. He is currently an Honorary Professor in the College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University where he chairs the Governance Board of the Health and Wellbeing Academy.

He has considerable experience of working as an independent board member and Vice Chair within NHS Wales. 

He is married to Tess and lives in Cowbridge. He has two sons and two grandchildren. 

He is a keen sportsman and golfer, and has previously captained of the Vale of Glamorgan Golf Club.  He played rugby football for Swansea RFC, Mumbles RFC, and Eastleigh RFC and represented the County of Hampshire.
