Dr David Shepherd
David provides analytic support in Population Health Management to Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland's ICB and was a key developer of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland's GP Funding Model, aimed at addressing the vagaries of the national GP funding formula.
He is a senior clinical research fellow at Leicester University, supporting the exceed genetic research project and a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
In the past, David has worked as a family doctor, trainer, appraiser and minor surgeon in a socio-economically deprived area of Leicester City for 27 years and served on its clinical commissioning group board.
He is a reader in the Church of England and a lay canon of Kiteto Diocese, Tanzania.
His ambitions are to break the inverse care law, speak Welsh and to see as far as his astronomical telescope will allow.
