Dr Gen Wong

Gen has been a GP in the same practice for over 24 years. He has held senior leadership roles for the past 15 years in a range of organisations including primary care trusts, clinical commisioning groups, locality boards and provider collaboratives. 

He has been the clinical lead for GP practices in Leigh since 2016 and Clinical Director for Leigh PCN since the start of the PCN directed enhanced service.

In recent years, he has been heavily involved in supporting community resilience. He believes thriving local communities is key to a sustainable and healthier general practice. Working closely with and within communities also promotes upstream healthcare, helps address wider determinants of health with a realistic chance of improving healthy life expectancy. He has developed innovative partnerships with the local Council, charities, leisure services, schools and the voluntary sector.
