Dr Jane Kocen

Jane Kocen qualified in 1988 and became a GP partner in 1993 in Neasden. She has worked as a partner, retainer and salaried GP as she moved while her husband finished his gastroenterology training. She landed in Bedford in 1999 with two small children. Primary care has been her home since then; she has been a jobbing GP gradually increasing sessions, resuming partnership and then landed the clinical director role in 2019. She received a PHM Wave 2 pilot and nudged her way onto inequalities planning work for the ICB in the last year. Jane has a clinical lead role for the ICB, representing primary care in the Bedford Care alliance. She is most comfortable as a GP in the consulting room with patients. Leadership is a challenge but she has enthusiasm to use the role to work with practices, PCNs and place to deliver for our patients and support our workforce.
