Dr Joan Langley is an accomplished healthcare leader, educator, and advocate for transformative leadership and equity in healthcare management. As a lecturer at the Global Business School for Health, she combines a diverse professional background with academic excellence to inspire and develop the next generation of leaders.
In her role as programme lead for the Senior Leader Apprenticeship, a cornerstone of the Executive MBA programme, Joan is dedicated to equipping leaders with the skills and insights needed to navigate the complexities of modern healthcare systems with confidence, compassion, and innovation.
Joan’s career has been across multiple disciplines and continents. She began her professional journey as a medical doctor, serving in the NHS, before transitioning to leadership roles in finance and technology across Asia, Europe, and Africa. Her ability to bridge disciplines and cultures has shaped her holistic perspective on leadership and global health systems.
Academically, Joan holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Southampton and an MBA from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany.
