John is GP Director of Strategy at Whitstable Medical Practice. The Whitstable Medical Practice is an innovative practice of 26 partners which serves a population of over 43,000. It is a single GP practice PCN.

John was also Chair and Clinical Lead of the Encompass MCP Vanguard (2016-2018). The organisation's membership included 122 GPs from 16 practices, caring for a population of over 169,000.

He was a Governing Body member for Canterbury and Coastal Clinical Commissioning Group and a member of the Secretary of State’s GP Advisory Group.

John’s main interests include developing and refining an at scale model for general practice which offers community integrated health and social care, with the aim of providing an enhanced patient experience with better outcomes, at less cost to the NHS.
