Louise Patten
Lou is the strategic adviser for the ICS Network.
She was previously the chief executive of NHS Clinical Commissioners and the Confed director for the ICS Network.
Prior to that, Lou was chief executive of NHS Buckinghamshire and NHS Oxfordshire CCGs, having led the successful bid for Buckinghamshire to become one of the first eight integrated care systems. Her leadership supported the leadership transformation required that resulted in the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West STP becoming a third wave ICS.
Lou comes with a wealth of experience and a national reputation for clinical leadership and innovation. She has worked at board level within NHS provider and commissioner organisations, including a GP- led urgent care and out-of-hours organisation and a commercial healthcare company. Her BSC was based in epidemiology and her Brunel MBA focused on how patient choice affects the hospital supply chain, published in 2009. Lou maintains her District Nursing registration, working regular sessions locally and describes her approach to commissioning services as ‘patient-focused’, recognising the importance of sustainable health and care to support out of hospital transformation.
