Piers Wilkinson
Piers is a passionate disability rights advocate and inclusion specialist who has led transformative work across the education and health sectors. With leadership roles including Commissioner for the Disabled Students' Commission, a Director at the National Association of Disability Practitioners (NADP), and Inquiry Commissioner for the House of Lords Higher Education Commission, Piers brings a wealth of strategic insight grounded in lived experience as a disabled person. Their work has consistently centred on a dual-approach of removing structural barriers and embedding inclusive practice alongside providing bespoke one-to-one support.
Beyond education, Piers has worked in partnership supporting institutions and trusts across the NHS, including Health Education England and NHS England, to advance equity and inclusion for disabled health professionals and learners. Their influence spans co-authoring national guidance, supporting inclusive workforce development, and making both the business and moral case for embedding inclusive design. Their inspiring, solutions-focused approach has helped organisations across the world recognise that inclusion isn't just the right thing to do, it’s fundamental to effective, sustainable, and innovative leadership.
