Rachael Thornton
Rachael Thornton has been a pharmacist for over 36 years and has had a varied career starting in community pharmacy where she had both clinical and managerial roles. Mid-career she moved into Primary Care where she helped embed the concept of pharmacists working within a GP practice.
She is currently the primary care specialist pharmacist for older people in Dudley, a role which involves management, leadership, training, service development, writing policies, winning various awards and, of course, seeing patients as an independent prescriber.
She is very proud to have been a Primary Care Network clinical director for over four years and is now relishing the opportunity of being the vice chair of the Black Country Primary Care Collaborative and co-chair of Dudley Place Primary Care Collaborative.
In her spare time, she loves to walk her dogs, cook and socialise with friends
