
Vicki Baxendale
"Vicki has been a registered mental health nurse since 1997 after completing a Diploma in Nursing at Keele University. She has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings both as clinician and service manager, including Acute Mental Health, Community Substance Misuse, Community Mental Health, and Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP), her first leadership role was in the EIP service with a focus on quality and service user engagement. Since 2015 Vicki has had a more quality and strategic focused career path: this has included system working in the safeguarding arena, quality focused roles at divisional and trust level. Prior to joining MHIST in 2024 Vicki was deputy to the Chief Nurse at a Mental Health Trust in the Midlands, with a large focus on regulatory aspects, supporting teams across the Trust with improvement plans and actions as well as demystifying the CQC. She also was supporting the development of the Perinatal Provider Collaborative for the East Midlands again leading on quality and service user engagement for the collaborative.
Vicki is a qualified Non Medical Prescriber, registered Specialist Practitioner in Community Mental Health and has a MSc in Healthcare Leadership from the University of Birmingham. She is currently working towards qualifications in executive coaching and mentoring and Management Consultancy."
