Vinice Thomas
Vinice is a director of nursing and quality at NHS England, London Region. She has extensive leadership experience within acute nursing, corporate education and commissioning – leading on the quality and nursing agendas.
Vinice has worked previously within national roles at The King’s Fund, and the Department of Health, and sat on RCN forum steering committees. She is a recent Nurse Fellow at NHS England, and a GenerationQ Fellow (Health Foundation QI Leadership programme), and a Florence Nightingale Foundation scholar. In 2023, she became a Queen’s Nurse in recognition of her commitment to community nursing.
She has been the regional chair for the chief nursing officer for England’s Ethnic Minority Strategic Advisory Group for the London Region for seven years. She currently leads the nursing and midwifery BAME workstream for NHSE London, and her programme the Talent Management Support Network was awarded silver and gold awards in the 2024 HSJ Partnership Awards in recognition of the excellent collaboration between the NHS, 3D coaching and a team of amazing senior nurses and midwifery facilitators across London and Brazil.
Vinice is a published author, having co-authored a Safety Toolkit for Midwives, and edited the Fundamental of Infection Prevention and Control (English and available in Polish). She sits on the editorial board for the British Journal of HCAs and has recently completed a series on Understanding Leadership.
Vinice is a passionate, energetic and authentic leader and speaker both professionally, and in her spare time.
