Letter to British Medical Association and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care: junior doctors industrial action
The latest round of junior doctors strikes have been one of the most significant incidents of industrial action the NHS has ever had to manage.
We have estimated that over a quarter of a million appointments and operations will have had to be cancelled during this latest round of industrial action (11-14 April 2023.)
Therefore, the NHS Confederation is urging the British Medical Association and the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to invite Acas, the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service – or another mediation service – to support with negotiations and help to bring this industrial action to a close.
