Having the right numbers and skill mix of community staff is essential to providing high-quality care, keeping people well in their own home or in the community, and preventing demand on other healthcare services.
The solutions proposed below must be supported by a fully-funded and -costed national workforce plan to meet existing and future demand for healthcare. This is particularly true given the increasing focus on care delivery in the community.
