NHS Confederation responds to the NHS workforce equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) improvement plan

Responding to the NHS workforce equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) improvement plan, Joan Saddler, director of partnerships and equality at the NHS Confederation, said:

“We know that tackling inequalities is crucial to maintaining a functional and effective health service and requires dedication and resource. With this in mind, members will welcome the publication of this strategy as a re-prioritisation for equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as the accountability on this agenda shown by NHS England.

“Members are very much aware that equality cannot be achieved overnight, and no strategy is capable of doing so by itself. However, this plan is a useful foundation for leaders to build on and our members look forward to working with Navina Evans in capacity as Chief Workforce Officer to develop an overarching strategy for its effective implementation.”
