European funding after Brexit
The result of the referendum in 2016 and the possibility of a ‘no deal’ Brexit means there is uncertainty over the future of European funding to Wales
Wales currently receives around £680 million per year in EU funding. This equates to £83 per person per year, considerably more than any of the devolved nations and English regions.
Through the different EU funding programmes there has been millions of pounds given to support health research and innovations throughout Wales. The result of the referendum in 2016 and the possibility of a ‘no deal’ Brexit means that there is uncertainty around the future of European funding to Wales.
