Mental health trusts call for guaranteed representation on ICS NHS boards
Chairs of 29 mental health trusts have co-signed a letter to the Secretary of State calling for representation on ICS boards to be mandated.

Key points
Not having mental health representation on boards would:
- be a backward step for the parity of esteem for people who use mental health services
- pose the risk of distorting the distribution of resources for mental health care providers
- risk setting back the progress of mental health organisations working with third and independent sector partners, who will have a vital role in supporting recovery post pandemic.
- Mental health trusts are calling for guaranteed mental health representation on ICS NHS boards.
