Neighbourhood Health Community of Practice

Action Learning Sets for health and care leaders across the country, who play a role in the development of neighbourhood health in community care.

We are creating a Community of Practice (COP) for neighbourhood health. As part of this programme, we will facilitate Action Learning Sets (ALS) for health and care leaders across the country who play a role in the development of neighbourhood health in community care.

The COP will seek to recruit those leading on the development of neighbourhood health at Place, community provider and PCN level and want to develop their leadership skills. The action learning sets aim to bring together colleagues at a similar leadership level and therefore we will encourage participation from members who are actively playing a leadership role in establishing and developing neighbourhood health programmes locally.

The first cohort is limited to 30 members and is available only to members of the NHS Confederation.

Goals for the Community of Practice

  • Feel better equipped to lead and deliver neighbourhood healthcare.
  • Participants will gain the skills, capabilities and confidence to enable local shifts in healthcare closer to communities.
  • NHS teams feel better connected to others in their neighbourhood, creating more productive and quality services for people.
  • The COP will act as a trial for longer term approaches, which we may use for future influencing work.

Expressions of interest

Thanks to all who expressed interest in joining the first cohort. We will let applicants know if they are successful in early February 2025 with the programme starting in March 2025.
