Governance and accountability
The NHS Confederation is a charitable company subject to the regulations of the Charity Commission (charity number: 1090329) and Companies House (company number: 04358614).
The Confederation is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Trustees are collectively responsible for setting the organisations strategic direction, monitoring the delivery of the organisations objectives and upholding its values and governance.
The Confederation also has a subsidiary trading company, The NHS Confederation (Services) Company Limited, through which all non-charitable activity is managed, such as conferences, sponsorship and exhibitions.

Committees
The NHS Confederation has three Committees that support the work of the Board of Trustees:
Finance and Operations Committee
The Finance and Operations Committee advises the Board on the Confederation's financial position and reserves, including management of its investment portfolio, and operational areas, such as IT and office administration.
Paul Davies chairs the Finance and Operations Committee.
Audit and Risk Committee
The Audit and Risk Committee advises the Board on the Confederation's processes relating to audit, risk and governance.
Nanda Ratnavel chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.
Remuneration Committee
The Remuneration Committee advises the Board on the remuneration for the Confederation's Directors, considers any staff pay awards and oversees the pay and reward strategy for the organisation.
Valerie Morton chairs the Remuneration Committee.
Scheme of Delegation
The NHS Confederation's Scheme of Delegation sets out who has the authority to make decisions across the organisation and specifically who can authorise expenditure.
Register of Interests
The NHS Confederation's register of interests lists all interests declared by the organisation's Trustees, Independent Committee Members and Directors.
Annual report and accounts
The NHS Confederation files its annual report and accounts with the Charity Commission and Companies House annually.
